We also had to watch a movie for English that we had to choose ourself. I have chosen the movie Birdbox because I had recently seen it and I thought it was a really nice movie. Bird box is also a book.

The anxious Malorie makes a long perilous journey across the River in a boat with two blindfolded children and little birds in a box. Malorie tells the children that they are not allowed to take their blindfold off, otherwise they die.

Five years ago, Malorie was pregnant and she was, together with her sister Jessica, in a clinic for an ultrasound scan. While they go back outside, they see an unexplained mass suicides in Europe, all of which take place in the open air, on tv. This happens because people look to the light: an invisible monster causes you to get the urge to commit suicide. Once outside there is massive panic. The unknown something from Europe is also at Peter and Jessica. In a havoc on the road, Jessica is also attracted by the light and she commits suicide; Malorie can only just enter in a safe house with a number of other people.

Everyone is anxious, because no one knows what the danger outside is. Still, the unknown danger makes victims in the group. Later the group finds out that the unexplained light has a different effect on people with psychological problems: these people are trying to make other people look into the light, so they would commit suicide. Fate strikes if they the stranger Gary in. They think that he is a victim, but he also turns out to be one of the psychic people who want to make sure that others commit suicide. By Gary's hands, there are several people in the house who die when Malorie and Olympia are about to give birth. Tom, a former soldier, knows to take Gary out. He and Peter are with the two children (called Boy and Girl) the only survivors. Olympia’s daughter is immediately an orphan and Malorie decides to take her in as if she were her own daughter.

If I would have to give the movie a rating it would be an 8, because there is not very much action in it, but quite enough. There is also a lot of adventure in it and I usually like that. There are a lot of people who are against the movie, because they didn’t like the movie but I did. I can easily watch the movie 3/4 times again if I want to. It is definitely a must watch if you like adventure and a little action
